MULGRAVE

Visiting Port Mulgrave on the Yorkshire coast became for me synonymous with making abstract art. ​From 2011 to 2014, I explored many ideas including the crossover between photography, music and painting and used all the available objects on hand - fishing huts, boats, the beach - as materials for making art. The project explores three distinct approaches for abstract photography.

Mulgrave was completed exclusively on 5x4 Large Format Velvia film and it became a seminal project for me, heavily influencing my subsequent approach to photography.
