During the first half of 2024 I made two trips to Scotland. The first trip was two weeks in the height of winter conditions in January with -10c degrees ice and snow giving way to a huge melt and wet conditions. On the second trip in April, I concentrated on some of Scotland's amazing geology.
It was a notable period as it was the first time I shot exclusively with phase backs on my Cambo Actus technical cameras rather than my Fuji GFX backs. It was a successful transition and I have made the move permanent. However more significantly I was reminded that it is the journey not just the output that is important. Over the three weeks I also got to spend some time with two inspirational photographers who have both significantly enriched my artistic and photographic approach. I absorbed many new ideas and concepts into my thinking that in many ways marks the start of a new chapter. All I can say is thank you to both of them.
I pulled some of my images together into a sequence that tells something of the story of the two trips. Enjoy.
