Being locked down at home in 2020 and 2021 during the critical spring months created a strong desire to capture the magic this time round.
I made a number of trips out in later April and early May to make images that distilled the Yorkshire Wolds during amazing time of change. The moment the Garlic comes out for me is the pivotal moment of spring - there is still that wonderful variation of greens on display in the foliage but there is a strong sense of vigorous growth and renewal everywhere.
My goal has been to distil this theme down to a set of six prints. The selection of that portfolio is still work in progress but on Sunday I made an image that will definitely make the cut - for me it is symbolic of everything the Wolds is about in spring time. Watch this space for the development of the other 5 images.
